In the hectic pace of this busy world, it is so easy to feel tossed about by the turbulence of pressure fronts and squalling demands. It can be quite hard to stay centred amidst all of that, and to maintain a powerful connection with our deepest selves and our experience of the Divine.
Spiritual Coaching is focused on looking at all of life through a spiritual lens, to bring light and new clarity to any agenda that we work on together. In order to fully engage in that work, it is vital that both you and I work from a space of powerful connection, where we draw on the incredible wisdom and insight available to us in that space.
Working from that space can generate amazing levels of motivation and inspiration. We become like majestic mature trees, our crowns reaching up into an open sky of endless possibility, while our roots drink deep of the waters of the Spirit, firmly rooted in the nourishing soil of our Centredness.
What does it feel like to you when you are completely centred? What emotions fill up your heart? What physical sensations do you experience? Take a moment now to vividly recall everything about a time when you felt completely centred.
Practice Tip: In her book 'The Seven Whispers: Listening to the Voice of Spirit', Christina Baldwin writes that 'the purpose of any spiritual practice is to keep us engaged and in dialogue with the Divine, wherever we perceive it, and however we have learned to speak and listen.' I find that simply taking time out to listen to myself, and to the world around me, is one of the most powerful ways to get centred.
In the next two weeks, take just five minutes every day to go somewhere to listen - that might be down by the water's edge, or in a little park tucked amidst the city streets, or just in a corner of your own home. Don't worry about what you hear, just let it all flow through your mind. Don't judge or analyze what you hear, from within or without. Just listen. Every day.

Co-Creative: The Second of the Seven Cs of Spiritual Coaching Wind To Thy WingsIn each issue I will highlight a resource I think you'll find powerful and uplifting. If you have a suggestion for a book, movie, album or other resource that you have found significant in your journey, and would like to share with others, I would love to hear from you – email your suggestions to adam@dailydivine.com!
Today I offer a resource of my own. I have found it incredibly useful to have visual and tangible reminders of my deepest self and my experience of the Divine. What might do that for you? Would it be a photograph, or a painting, or a sculpture of some kind? Or perhaps a rock, or feather, or other natural object?
Whatever it might be, place it where you'll see it everyday. Perhaps beside your bed, or on your desk or work space, or by the door so you see it when you leave and return home. Place it so that you can be reminded on a daily basis what a wise, and powerful, and growing spirit you are!
If you don't have something that feels right, or can't think of what that might be, then set aside some time to go looking for it. Get clear on what the object will mean for you, and then go out into the world ready to receive, and enjoy the search as much as the finding!
