Greetings, and welcome to another issue of e-divine, the newsletter dedicated to helping you Build a Better Life and a Better World through the Spiritual Practice of Everyday Life.

This newsletter is meant to serve you. I would love to hear your feedback on what inspires you, what resonates for you, and how I can do more of both of those! Please don't hesitate to send your comments, insights and suggestions to me at adam@dailydivine.com!

A very special welcome goes out to all of the new friends and colleagues I met at the International Coach Federation conference in St. Louis last week. I am delighted to welcome so many of you to this growing virtual community!

Co-Creative: The Second of the Seven Cs of Spiritual Coaching

In his book The Courage to Create, Rollo May writes that creativity is 'the process of bringing something new into being.' This understanding of creativity allows us to take a broader view of engaging in a creative process together, to understand that from our commitment to a Co-Creative relationship, in coaching or anywhere else in life, we can truly bring into being new perspectives, new possibilities, new opportunities, and completely new ways of being.

My experience is that all powerful coaching is rooted in the shared power and responsibility of a Co-Creative relationship. To fully engage in Spiritual Coaching, I have come to understand that it is vital to do so within that Co-Creative circle of two (or more, in the case of group coaching!), where we accept and honour that we are always already beings involved in the process of creation. While our roles in the creative process may be different, we can continuously choose to hold and apply that energy with equal intentionality and accountability.

Think of the many roles you play in your life everyday, and ask yourself this: How might I approach these roles differently if I think of them as Co-Creative? Whether the 'something new' that is being brought into being is a new conversation, a new day with a loved one, or a new step in a business venture, what would it look like if you consciously chose to engage in that creative process with full intentionality and accountability, and invited others to do the same?

Practice Tip: Find time this week to go somewhere with someone close to you. Choose a place to go together that may seem rather mundane, such as the grocery store, a busy street corner, or even your balcony or backyard. Now engage in a Co-Creative process of experiencing that place in a new way.

Consciously choose to look for beauty, inspiration or positive meaning. Point out new things you notice to each other… new sounds, new sights, new understandings. Stay in that space for a few minutes, and share more with each other about what those newly noticed experiences connect to for you, and what you are taking away with you from that experience.

Wind To Thy Wings

In each issue I will highlight a resource I think you'll find powerful and uplifting. If you have a suggestion for a book, movie, album or other resource that you have found significant in your journey, and would like to share with others, I would love to hear from you – email your suggestions to adam@dailydivine.com!

Today our resource comes to us from Marysia Czarski, a consultant, coach and facilitator based in Toronto, Ontario; you can read more about Marysia's work at www.velocity-training.com. Marysia's pick is Robert Fritz's book The Path of Least Resistance: Learning to Become the Creative Force in Your Own Life.

In her email to me, Marysia wrote, 'I love this book because it's about how creativity exists in all of us, which I completely believe.  And, it also opens up and explores the critical component to have creativity be alive - structure.  Every page is a resource!' Thank you, Marysia!

On a side note, Marysia is also the co-Founder of the annual Open Door Festival of Music, a fabulous evening featuring independent acts and artists while also raising funds for the Red Door Family Shelters. This is a night celebrating creativity, talent and community, taking place on Wednesday, November 22 at the Mod Club in Toronto. For more information, and details on where to buy tickets, go to www.opendoorfestival.com.
